Update 77: Oil Spill Update
November 02, 2008
Dear Friends,
With all the direct mail and television advertisements, it’s unlikely that any of you have forgotten that we have an election day coming up on Tuesday. Some of you may even be a part of the nearly 4,000 who have already voted absentee in Jackson County. If you haven’t already done so, please take the time to vote on Tuesday.
The Mississippi Press has a sample ballot in today’s paper on page 12-A. Note that in addition to selecting among the candidates for president, senate, and house, you will have a chance to elect our Supreme Court Justice for the Southern District. You will also find a county wide referendum asking whether you are “for” or “against” the county issuing a bond in the amount of $22,000,000 for the purpose of building a county jail. The offices of election commissioner and Court of Appeals Judge are uncontested. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
