Jones leads District 111 pack in funds

May 12, 2007

Pascagoula native outpaces rivals by nearly 2-to-1 combined

(Pascagoula)- Democratic candidate for Mississippi State House Brandon Jones has released his first fundraising report in his run for House District 111.

Jones raised a total of $6,360 in March and April. The other three candidates for House District 111 raised a combined total of less than $3,400.

“The response to my candidacy has been humbling,” said Jones, a Pascagoula native. “People from all walks of life have supported this campaign to rebuild, protect and grow the Gulf Coast.”

Jones says he has nearly 50 financial supporters so far and that most of his contributions have been for $100 or less.

“I have been determined to run a people-powered campaign from the very beginning,” said Jones. “A great number of folks have come on-board and they’re committed to knocking on doors and calling their neighbors to make sure that we send someone to the Capitol who will fight for our values.”

Jones says he’ll continue to hit the campaign trail hard and looks forward to a “Campaign Kick-Off” to be held at Beach Park in Pascagoula on June 16.
